For his first release under his own name, Matthew Austin returns to his first instrument, the guitar. Utilizing open tunings, billowing chords, and scraping strings, he conjures a world much like our own, but paved over with the man-made nightmares we live with every day. As nature reclaims the twisted metal of fallen cities, distant smokestacks puncture the sky. Hazy memories unfold as our unnamed traveler explores the remains of a once-powerful empire, now reduced to ash.
